Warm light or cold light? Which one to choose
Light is emitted by light sources, such as light bulbs, and is perceived by our eye with a different colour temperature.
The hue of light greatly influences us psychologically and helps define our well-being and mood, depending on its intensity. In addition, it is important to install the right light in order to achieve efficient and comfortable lighting in every room.

Difference between warm light, cold light, neutral light
- Warm light
Warm light (2200K-3300K) is light with colours verging on red, yellow, orange, up to warm white. Warm light creates a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, which is ideal for rooms dedicated to relaxation, such as the living room or bedroom.
- Cold light
Cold light (6000K-6400K) is a light verging on ice white, up to blue. Cold light enhances details and does not alter colours. It is usually used to illuminate bathrooms or transit areas, as well as shops, hospitals, supermarkets or warehouses.
- Neutral light
Neutral light (4000K-5000K) is white light with a hue that resembles natural light and is better suited to our eyes. It is used to illuminate museums, libraries, for studying or working because it makes concentration easier.

“I like a place if I trust its light."

Which one between warm light or neutral light is better in the home? How to use it?
Warm light is the queen of cosy rooms where relaxation prevails; on the other hand, neutral light is suitable for activities that require concentration and perfect visibility. There is no specific rule to follow. Typically, warm light is preferred for homes, as it is cosier, more familiar and offers a greater feeling of comfort. However, it is possible to light up a room by choosing warm light, but inserting some neutral spot lighting in certain areas, such as the hob or the worktop.

For the living room, a room used for relaxation, warm light is recommended to make the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant; luminaires with 3000K light are ideal for softly illuminating the room.
- Lights for the bedroom
Warm and soft light also for the bedroom, an area where it is essential to relax and lie down, even up to 2700K, possibly to be combined with a more neutral light for the reading corner.
- Lights for the kitchen
4000K neutral light for the kitchen, a room where many activities that require excellent visibility take place, especially on worktops.
- Lights for the bathroom
The bathroom requires functional, hence neutral light, for activities that need precision. Be careful with the bathroom mirror: it's better to use neutral lights that do not alter the colours.
- Lights for the hallway
The hallway serves as a transition area, but it also has the task of welcoming. The best solution is the one that each person considers the most suitable, whether warm or neutral, to feel at home when people cross the threshold.
It is important to bear in mind that the hue of light greatly affects our well-being and and determines moods depending on its intensity.
