Attic lighting: how to make it bright?

Illuminating an attic, can be a complicated lighting project: we are talking about a peculiar space in terms of shape and size, which usually receives little natural light.

The winning move is to rely on professionals, such as Novalux, who know how to exploit and fully exploit the characteristics of the room.

What lights has to use in the attic?

Let's start by assessing the height and type of ceiling. The presence of exposed beams or false ceiling, as well as the slope and height of the attic ceiling, lead us to make different lighting choices: recessed, suspended, diffused light or indirect light. In addition, the best option is not to use a single light source, but multiple strategic light points, in order to make the attic more spacious and dynamic.

Recessed, suspended, wall lights, Novalux systems for the attic

LED strips are the ideal lighting for an attic with a false ceiling: L-09 Novalux is the ideal product as it is practical while taking up only the bulk of the thickness of the plasterboard slab.

Alternatively, you can consider recessed spotlights, such as SLIM, if you are looking for a diffused light effect, or MINI WELL for more targeted focuses.

When the attic has a wooden ceiling with exposed beams, the choice falls on pendant luminaires, preferably double-emission ones, such as HALOS B, to enhance precisely the ceiling. On the other hand, if the height does not allow us to use suspended lights, we can opt for a linear light system mounted on the beams, such as P-30, alternating light lines with adjustable spots.

Then, there are situations where no light points can be inserted, nor can we intervene to install fixtures. In this case, we can take advantage of the walls and mount wall lamps such as APP or PROFILO T with direct/indirect light, so as to always give some prominence to the ceiling, or opt for CARTOON LIGHT B-1, B-2, B-3 and B-4 profiles, to be camouflaged in the wall.

Finally, if we cannot act on the wall either, Novalux meets the need for functional and comfortable lighting with the NINA floor lamp, which is efficient and versatile thanks to its built-in presence and brightness detection sensor.
