How to light up the kitchen?
The kitchen is the heart of the household.
To enjoy the kitchen to the fullest, i.e. to cook, eat or make it welcoming, the kitchen needs light.
Kitchen lighting is a matter of planning, to obtain a bright and functional space with adequate light in every area, from the counter top to the dining table.

Lighting for the kitchen
For the general lighting of the kitchen, it is advisable to choose efficient and glare-free lamps.
For the hob - where you cook, knead, cut, blend, prepare - you need a light that is both practical and functional. Spotlights or under-cabinet LED strips are ideal for lighting the hob, also capable of giving a striking effect. The light must be intense and white, directed exactly where it is needed.
For kitchen work surfaces, such as islands and peninsulas, pendant lamps are perfect for obtaining a direct light beam and a great eye-catcher. It is also possible to opt for narrow beam ceiling spotlights, while it is advisable to use multiple pendant lamps over the dining table. If the table is in the centre of the kitchen, this type of light also acts as the main lighting for the room.
Track systems, on the other hand, are ideal for more complex spaces or for functional but minimal angular lighting. Adjustable spotlights direct the light beam and create different focuses in the room.
LED Strips for indirect light and bright accents, to be placed, for example, on wall units, shelves or counters and to enhance and complete functional lighting. Even wall lamps are decorative and perfect for less lit spaces, so as to avoid shadowy areas.
Finally, ceiling lights are the right choice for small, minimalist kitchens or with low ceilings: they radiate light discreetly and create the right atmosphere.

The kitchen and the heart of the home. How to design a perfect light?

Novalux kitchen lighting
In this kitchen, a lighting project managed by Novalux, the light is hidden in the architecture thanks to the GHOST EVO profile and is focused on the dining table with the TUBO cylindrical LED fixtures available in three lengths, which are lighting elements but also furnishings.
Functional lighting linked to the architecture, which also becomes an aesthetic element of furniture, in this lighting project by Novalux.
In the kitchen of this apartment, the Novalux lighting fixtures play by mixing soft atmospheres, given by the indirect light veils, with punctual lighting with spotlights emerging from the ceiling.
In a unique kitchen, like this one developed in a private villa in Savona managed by Novalux, the false ceilings draw sinuous lines and curves with the Novalux LED Strips, inserted in the grooves and in the indirect light veils, for a harmonious play of lights and shapes.
